BackgroundI am native Spanish, though fully bilingual in English. I am fluent in German, French, Dutch and Flemish, though I cannot speak those at "native" level, hence that I do not translate into them. I also know some Italian, and had one year of Russian and Arabian, but I certainly am not able to translate from those languages. I have a degree in German and the French high school (Baccalauréat). I have worked as a technical translator since 1977, though in 1982 I joined an aerospace company, first as a translator (my first 7 years there), then as an engineer, though never abandoning my freelance translation work. You can find my Aerospace glossary at Proz here. I also have an university degree in Computer Sciences. I have developed airborne software and been active in the field of software support for over 17 years, where I have chaired a US standarization committee. I have several recognitions and awards from the US DoD, UK MoD, Canadian Department of National Defence and the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). I have worked for 40+ years at an aerospace company, and have also over 12 years experience in Integrated Logistic Support (ILS). I am member of the SAE, the IEEE Computer Society, the Association of Computer Machinery (ACM) and Ada-Spain. I will be pleased to submit you my resumé - just ask. I can also provide copy of the mentioned documents if necessary. COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE: Once I have committed to a deadline, I will provide a 25% discount if I fail to meet it! Should I deliver unsatisfactory work, I will correct it free of charge and apply also this 25% discount for the trouble I might have caused you.
